Solar Panels
Solar panels are devices that convert sunlight into usable electricity through the photovoltaic (PV) effect, a process where photons from sunlight strike PV cells made of semiconductor materials, releasing electrons and generating a direct current (DC) electricity flow. These panels are typically composed of interconnected solar cells, framed with glass and aluminum, and can be combined to form larger solar arrays or systems that produce electricity for homes, businesses, or the grid.
